Join the Kyne Foundation in welcoming internationally acclaimed clinical psychologist and New York Times bestselling author Dr Shefali Tsabary to Dublin.

To mark the release of her two new books, Raising Conscious Daughters and Raising Conscious Sons, this special evening will explore the pressures shaping childhood today, from anxiety, identity and digital culture to confidence, emotional security and connection.

Drawing on themes from the books, Dr Shefali will explore what children need from us, how parenthood changes us, and how we can help our children stay connected to who they are.

Dr Gabor Maté, RDS, 2024

In 2024, Jacqueline Kyne organised a charity event with Dr Gabor Maté at the RDS in Dublin. The event explored trauma, healing, chronic illness, the mind-body connection and the impact of modern culture on our wellbeing. Dennis Okwera of the Lumule Foundation also shared his story of leaving war-torn Uganda, where many of his friends became child soldiers, and building a successful modelling career in London.

The event began with a conversation between Jacqueline and Dr Gabor Maté about his upcoming trip to Belfast. It brought the Kyne Foundation's current partners together on stage for the first time to discuss youth mental health.

Hosted by Clare McKenna, the panel included Tammy Darcy of The Shona Project, Niall Breslin of A Lust for Life, Brent Pope of Elephant in the Room and Dr Gabor Maté. The gathering created space for people to come together, reflect and connect.

The Gathering Table at Aventine Wellness Gardens

In June, we hosted The Gathering Table at Aventine Wellness Gardens, bringing together leaders in sustainability, mental health and wellbeing for an evening centred on connection.

Dr Brian Pennie spoke about connection and shared human experience. Níall Ó Murchú guided the group through breathwork, while Costanza Giagnoni invited guests to reflect on two questions: What are you taking from today? And what can you offer to others?

The evening created space for conversation, reflection and genuine connection. New friendships were formed and partnerships continue to grow, reminding us that meaningful work often starts quietly.

Shambo Retreat with The Shona Project

The Kyne Foundation was delighted to support The Shona Project’s first Shambo Retreat, bringing together its Senior Ambassadors and mentors for two days of connection, reflection and shared experiences.

Held at The Wicklow Escape, the retreat offered young women time to step away from everyday pressures, connect with one another and take part in workshops and creative activities.

We are proud to partner with The Shona Project, whose work supports young women across Ireland.

Shared experiences

Cycle for Change 2025

The Kyne Foundation, in partnership with Dennis Okwera and the Lumule Foundation, organised a 300km fundraising cycle across Uganda. It began at The Help School in Masese, Jinja, and finished in Lumule, Kitgum, in Northern Uganda.

Before the cycle, participants volunteered at The Help School and attended the opening of a 200-pupil school donated by the Kyne Foundation and other donors. The team was welcomed by the Lumule community and spent time getting to know local people.
Funds raised through the cycle supported the construction of a Health and Wellness Hub in Lumule.

Later in 2025, the Kyne Foundation and the Lumule Foundation joined Paris2Nice for its 750 km cycle.

The Lumule Challenge was created to support meaningful change in Lumule, Uganda. Through our partnership with Dennis Okwera and the Lumule Foundation, this initiative helps bring care, opportunity and support to the children and families at the heart of the community.

Cycle for Change 2025

The Kyne Foundation, in partnership with Dennis Okwera and the Lumule Foundation organised a fundraising cycling adventure from Jinja to Lumule, Uganda, in March/April in 2025 to support the construction of a health facility for the community in Lumule. We were delighted to have raised over €80,000 toward that goal. However, with a total of €270,000 needed to complete the build, there is much more work to do...

To that end, the Kyne Foundation and the Lumule Foundation teamed up again and joined Paris2Nice to take on their 750km cycle in September 2025. The team of David Kyne, Dennis Okwera, Conor Quirke and Ken Dawson Howe built on the success of our Uganda cycle and raised an additional €15,000 towards the vital health clinic in Lumule.

The Kyne Foundation is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed clinical psychologist and New York Times bestselling author @doctorshefali to Dublin this October for a special evening hosted by Kyne Foundation co-founder @jacquelinekyne.

Together, we will explore conscious parenting and how we can support our children to build confidence, resilience and a deeper connection to themselves while navigating anxiety, relationships, screens and the pressures of today’s world.

The evening will also draw on themes from Dr. Shefali’s two new books, Raising Conscious Sons and Raising Conscious Daughters which she recently shared on @oprahpodcast.

Dr. Shefali’s work has been a longstanding influence on Jacqueline’s own journey and the work of the Kyne Foundation, making it especially meaningful to welcome her to Dublin.

The Gathering Table @lisnacarrighouse @aventinewellnessgardens.ie was created as a space to simply come together. For people who care deeply about wellbeing, connection and community.

Not to present.
Not to perform.
Not to network.

Just to listen, learn, share experiences and have meaningful conversations.

What stayed with us wasn’t any one conversation. It was the reminder that when people come together with openness and curiosity, something shifts.

New ideas emerge.
Relationships deepen.
Connections are made.

And often, the ripple continues long after the evening ends.
